Injuries from Dangerous Vehicles Abound

Most of the time the vehicles we use work perfectly.  The last thing we think about is whether the vehicle is safe.  Sometimes, either because of defects in the way the vehicle is designed, or defects in the way the vehicle is manufactured, it creates a danger to the person using it.

Defects in Manufacture:

There are numerous stories of defects in manufacture causing serious injuries.  These include:

  • Defective airbags
  • Defective brakes
  • Defective speed control units
  • Defective transmissions (autoshifting)
  • Unintended acceleration

Defects in Design

Sometimes the Defect is not in the way the product is manufactured, but in the way the product is designed.  One of the chief design flaws that our firm has found is that of "crashworthiness."

A vehicle is crashworthy if it protects an occupant of the vehicle in a crash.  Some of the types of injuries and crashworthiness defects we have seen include:

  • Roof crush (injuries to the head or neck because of weak roof)
  • Seat belt (injuries from ejection when seat belts are mounted to the door)
  • Air bag (injuries from failure of the air bag to deploy
  • Seat design (failure of seat to protect occupant in rear-end collision)
  • Fuel-fed fires
  • Vehicle Rollover

Has someone you know been a victim of a poorly-designed or poorly-manufactured vehicle?

If so, you may want to contact us about compensation for your injury.  Vehicle injury cases, like all cases of products liability, have specific statutes of limitation.  Therefore, if you believe you may have been injured by a defectively designed or manufactured vehicle, do not wait.  Call our office at 800-452-2526 immediately.  Ask to speak to Steve Gorny.  All consultations are free of charge.
